Tutor Bio
I am the daughter of the distinguished composer and music director of Bengal, Dr. Nachiketa Ghosh. My musical journey includes training in Hindustani Classical music under the guidance of luminaries such as Lt. Padmabhibhushan Smt. Girija Devi and Lt. Pandit Sri A.T. Kanan. Beyond classical, I excel in singing Bengali and Hindi modern songs, having lent my voice to various TV serials and films. My repertoire includes four Bengali modern-song albums, crafted by maestros like my father, the late Manna De, and Suparna Kanti Ghosh, the composer of the iconic song "Coffee House er sei adda ta aaj aar nei."
My performances have resonated globally, particularly in the United States of America, where I have shared the stage with Padmashree Manna De, singing both solos and duets in over 50 programs. As a versatile teacher, I cater to students ranging from 5-year-olds to 65-year-olds worldwide. My instructional approach blends traditional wisdom with a unique teaching methodology, making Hindustani Classical music accessible and enjoyable for learners of all ages. I have conducted successful workshops in Boston and Philadelphia, contributing to the propagation of Indian classical music. Currently, I am immersed in the creation of my next album, focusing on Tagore songs with a semi-classical touch.
My extensive training includes years at the Sangeet Research Academy in Kolkata, where I studied under the tutelage of stalwarts like Lt. Pandit Sri A.T. Kanan, Lt. Pandit Sri Arun Bhadury, and Lt. Padmabhibhushan Smt. Girija Devi. Simultaneously, I received vocal guidance from my illustrious father in the enriching environment of our home.
In the realm of Hindustani Classical music, I have graced prestigious platforms such as the Uttarpara Music Festival and Howrah Music Festival, showcasing the depth of my artistry. Additionally, I have been part of various solo and collaborative performances, contributing to the cultural tapestry of diverse events like Rajyasangeet Academy, Durgatsav in Benaras, and Khidderpore Library.
Beyond classical pursuits, I have made significant contributions to the world of modern songs, participating in numerous stage performances and playback singing for films and TV serials. Notable works include songs in films like "Mombati," "Mejhdidi," "Konokanjali," and "Nijer dhak nije petale." My album releases, including "Lagche Tao Mondo Na," "Mon Eka Chhilo," "Anek Diner Pore," and "Kemon Achho," reflect the diversity and depth of my musical expression.
With a rich tapestry of training, performances, and contributions to the world of music, I am dedicated to imparting my knowledge and passion for Hindustani Classical music to aspiring learners, fostering a deep appreciation for the art form.
