Sankara is a gifted Madhura Vainika, inheriting his musical talents from a rich lineage of tradition and environment rooted in the village of 'Penugollu' in S. Rayavaram Mandalarm, Visakhapatnam District, Andhra Pradesh. His ancestral home has been graced by the presence of spiritual luminaries, including the revered seer of Kanchi, Sri Sri Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswathi Swamygal.

Born on October 4th, 1966, to Smt. & Sri Bonala Ramani & Japnnadhatit, both accomplished Voco Veena Vidwans, Sankara Prakash embarked on his musical journey at the tender age of 5. His father served as both his source of inspiration and his Guru, nurturing his musical talents and imparting the art of music from the very beginning.
